THE PARISH ADVISORY COUNCIL (PAC)
Our Parish Advisory Council or PAC is a group of 15 of our parish community elected by all at St. Mary’s and St. Paul’s to serve for a period of three years. The PAC acts as link between the parish priest and parishioners; and it assists with parish management and spiritual growth . This Council is found in all parishes as it is seen as a way forward in managing parishes today. Fr. Build Up Our Parish Planning Team
Your Parish Advisory Council
We
now have a strong representation of 13 members guided by Father Barry.
Building
on the solid foundation that currently exists within your Parish
Advisory Council it is my intention to ensure that the lines of
communication between the PAC and our Parishioners are further
developed. To this end, we will be updating you on a monthly basis of
the activities we are undertaking on your behalf, through Father or your
Parish Newsletter.
On the first Sunday of every month we will
hold a ‘Parish Surgery’ after Mass. Beginning with St Mary’s in Chepstow
on June 5th and 6th, followed on July 4th in St Paul’s. If you have an
issue then please come and see me. All discussions are in confidence.
Your first point of contact should always be Father Barry, but if you
feel it is does not warrant his time then please come and see me, no
matter how small you may feel your issue is. If you are unable to do
so, or prefer not to, there will be an ‘Issues Box’ placed at the back
of St Mary’s and St Paul’s for you to place any
comments/suggestions/issues in. These will be dealt with quickly and
responded to either in person or through our Parish Newsletter as
appropriate.
We currently have six Small Ministry Groups. It is
our intention that by the end of September every member of your PAC will
be involved in at least one of these Groups. We will then publish an
information booklet detailing the work undertaken by the individual
groups together with appropriate contact details.
Please
remember that I can be contacted at any time on either of the following
numbers: 01291 425077 or 07782 212377 or via email at LMPettitt@aol.com
Finally
may I ask you to please pray to the Holy Spirit to guide Father Barry
and your Parish Advisory Council during the coming year.
Thank
you for your support Lorraine Your Parish Chair |
